Life at Sea: Day in the Life | Cunard
Recruitment films for Cunard following two crew members through a full day onboard, showcasing routines, ship life and roles.
Challenge: Capture authentic “day in the life” stories on hectic in-port turnaround days – working fast with just 5 hours per crew member.
Approach: We planned tight schedules and shotlists, filmed fly-on-the-wall across key routine moments, then crafted two distinct narrative edits per ship.
Impact: A fun, relatable recruitment asset that gives candidates a real glimpse of living and working at sea, boosting application appeal.
Cunard asked us to create a pair of “day in the life” films to support recruitment—giving people considering roles onboard a genuine insight into what living and working at sea really looks like. The aim was to feel human, upbeat and real, showing the routines, environments and rhythm of ship life through the eyes of crew.
The production challenge was pace: each film was shot on a busy in-port turnaround day, with only five hours to film with each featured crew member. With tight planning and a fly-on-the-wall approach, we captured the key moments that tell the story quickly, then shaped them into fun, engaging edits that make ship life feel accessible – helping Cunard attract talent with an authentic behind-the-scenes view.
