Welcome Aboard: The Language of Life at Sea | P&O Cruises

Jargon-buster engagement film for new P&O Cruises crew, delivered by onboard colleagues as a video reference guide for terminology.

Challenge: Make cruise-ship terminology easy to understand for new crew, without overwhelming them with jargon-heavy training materials.
Approach: We created a friendly ā€œvideo reference guideā€ delivered by real onboard colleagues, keeping explanations simple, visual and relatable.
Impact: A scalable training and on-demand aide-memoire seen by tens of thousands of crew, helping onboard confidence from day one.

P&O Cruises asked us to create an engagement film for new crew joining their ships – a simple, accessible ā€œjargon busterā€ for the terminology you encounter onboard. With so much specialist language in day-to-day operations, the aim was to remove barriers quickly and give colleagues a resource they can return to whenever they need it.

We built the film as a video reference guide delivered by real crew onboard, so it feels authentic and immediately relatable. Designed to work both inside training sessions and as an ongoing aide-memoire, the result is a practical, confidence-boosting asset that has been seen by tens of thousands of crew across the fleet.
