Welcome Break Rotherham: 16 Months in Motion

Timelapse-led timeline film tracking Welcome Break Rotherham from groundworks to opening, captured over 16 months with FPV drones and site-visits.

Challenge: Communicate the sheer scale and complexity of a brand-new motorway services build in a simple, compelling story for internal and external use.
Approach: We created a ā€œtimelineā€ narrative using fixed timelapse coverage, regular site visits to capture key milestones, and dynamic FPV drone shots for scale.
Impact: A clear, high-energy asset that documents progress over 16 months and supports comms around the launch of Welcome Break’s Rotherham site.

When Welcome Break opened their brand-new Rotherham motorway service area in January 2025, they wanted a straightforward way to show just how much work goes into delivering a site of that scale — from first groundworks through to completion — for both internal and external audiences.

We captured the build over 16 months, combining timelapse cameras for the big transformations, planned site visits for key phases, and dynamic FPV drone footage to reveal scale and context. The result is a punchy timeline film that makes the journey easy to follow and visually striking — a simple, shareable story of progress from start to finish.
